Cristina Bouzas

Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Valladolid, Master in Nutrigenomics and Personalized Nutrition, and PhD in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). Associate Professor of Physiology and member of the Research Group on Community Nutrition and Oxidative Stress of the UIB, the CIBEROBN (Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition) of the Carlos III Health Institute and the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IDISBA). Formerly granted by a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral grant from the Spanish Research Agency (Ministry of Science and Innovation) and a Margalida Comas postdoctoral grant (Government of the Balearic Islands). Co-director of the UIB’s Master in Nutrition and Human Food, and the UIB’s PhD programs in Nutrition and Food Sciences, and in Human Nutrition and Associated Pathologies. Her research focuses on the health benefits and evolution of the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle, overweight and obesity, and food and environmental sustainability. Author of 10 books and book chapters and more than 80 scientific articles. Principal Investigator of the PASOS-2022 study. Researcher in 15 national and international research projects. Supervisor of four PhD theses.
