HYGIEIA Academic Board Member Josep Tur Visits Lusófona University for Seminar on Sustainability and Health
Lisbon, 5th of March 2025 – HYGIEIA Academic Board member Josep Tur recently visited Lusófona University, where he delivered an insightful seminar on “Environmental Sustainability, Food Sustainability, and Non-Communicable Diseases.”
During his presentation, Tur engaged with the Lusófona academic community, discussing the critical intersections between environmental health, sustainable food systems, and the rising global challenge of non-communicable diseases. His lecture provided valuable perspectives on how sustainable practices can contribute to better public health outcomes.
The event was well received by students, faculty, and researchers, fostering meaningful discussions on sustainability and its impact on long-term human health.

The concept for the HYGIEIA Joint Master's Degree was presented at the 3rd Meeting of the Portuguese Society of Physiology on November 7, 2024. The presentation highlighted the co-creation approach, involving both stakeholders and university students, that guided the program's design.
